Police package cars are very fun to drive. I've driven many cars over the years, but you know what was the most fun? A 1986 Chevrolet Caprice with the police package. It was so much fun that I didn't care that it didn't have power windows or power locks, or that it had an AM Mono radio. As another squadmember put it so well... "You can pull out in front of someone, cut them off, and be gone before they got there."

The newer V-8 sedans with fuel injection and overdrive transmissions can easily get 25 MPG highway, and if driven respectably can get over 30 highway. We're not talking abouut the 70's when these types of cars got 15 MPG highway. I can easily hit the high 20's in my late grandfather's Grand Marquis, and I eagerly await the day that car is mine.

The Caprice is available here (Australia) where it is made but is aimed strictly at the luxury market and called a Statesman.
There is a Caprice model as well which is slightly lower spec and is aimed at the more sports market.
For the details of all the versions and variants have a look at:
www.holden.com.au
which is the website of the GM local division.

They also export to Saudi Arabia , South Africa and New Zealand among other places.

Pete.
