On a trip to China Lake/Ridgecrest, CA (Naval Base) last week, I noticed an auto recycler just outside the front gate. I thought I'd stop by to see if they had any CRX's; turns out they do. I was told the car they had was a '91 CRX HF, but I'm not sure what's left of it, since I didn't get to see it.
HOWEVER, they did mention that they had an '89 (or '91?) CRX HF transmission with only NINE THOUSAND miles on it!! The guy actually laughed when he pulled the information up on his computer screen. He said it's been sitting on the shelf for 16 years....longer than he'd been employed there. He then brought me to the shelf where the transmission sat; "Wow!". It's a pretty transmission...looks absolutely brand new. Now, I would figure they'd be in the position to be haggled with, since the darn thing's been sitting there for so long. I didn't bother, since I was just checking to see what they had in stock (for you gas savers out there). He quoted me $250 for the transmission. It's there if anyone wants it. I believe the car was a CA emissions car. Here's the contact information:
