Wanted: GM clutch pedal

Don't ask me what vehicle it comes from. It's for a custom application. I'll know it when I see it. I'm pretty sure a pedal from a GM vehicle will be easier for me to use.

Requirements: Looks like it will fit, is not expensive.

It will more likely come from a car than a truck. It should be about 14 inches long and not too curved/bent. I could probably narrow a brake pedal if you have one with a decent shape/length.

I take it the clutch from the S-10 won't work?

No. It's a little too long and shaped all wrong. I think I could rig it up but I'd rather use one that fits better.

that's the bad thing w/ some 5 speeds. we used to have a rental truck that shifted INCREDIBLY long. could have been partly old/abused, partly bad design. any way, 5th and reverse made it feel like could smack the passenger window w/ the shifter!

No, you don't get it. The clutch pedal from the S10 is on a piece of metal that is too long. It would not have enough room to have a full range of motion in the car where I'm putting it.

Here's what it looks like with me holding it in place:

The shifter throws on the donor S10 are almost the same as the throws in my 2008 VW.

You will probably have to switch the brake pedal too. I'm thinking you should maybe look at a clutch & brake from either a Chevette or an early 80's Camaro.

Yup, pedals from those vehicles would probably work. I am told that A-body pedals are also a good candidate.

I'm not too worried about the brake pedal, I can modify the existing brake pedal easily.

I wasn't aware that a manual was available in A-Body cars of that vintage.

I don't know when the A-body donors are from, might be from a different era. I should try to find out, I think that was posted on a forum where I'm a member.

Good news everyone!

I figured out how to make the S10 clutch pedal work, and now I can't imagine any other pedal working.
