It looks like this is only valid on an oil change by a shop, not if you purchase the oil and change it yourself.

I didn't see tha at first. I just saw this part:

Include your original installer identified and dated service receipt or retailer identified cash register receipt showing the required purchase between August 11, 2009 and November 30, 2009. Receipt must specify qualifying Pennzoil? motor oil change or 5 quarts of Pennzoil? motor oil was purchased.

Hey guys I forgot to mention you can buy the 5 quart jug of synthetic at Wally World for $20. so it only leaves it costing you $5. for 5 quarts of synthetic. You can't even buy conventional oil for $1. a quart anymore.

Re: Pennzoil Rebate

didn't want to start a new thread, so...

my local big lots has quaker state fully(fake however) synthetic motor oil for $4/qt. i imagine it's nation wide in the states. not a bad deal for not much more than conventional. weights were 0w20 and 5w30.

Re: Pennzoil Rebate

Since the thread has been revived and is pertaining to to rebates on automotive products I thought I'd also mention that Prestone is offering a $15. on 2 gallon jugs of full strength anti freeze or $11. rebate on two jugs of 50/50 anti freeze solution.

What do you mean by fake? I got in on this deal at Ollie's for my new Elantra, they had 5w-20, what do you think of the oil? I'm debating whether to return it and get either PU or M1 but whatever I want to try synthetic and see how my mpg goes.

http://www.gassavers.org/showthread....=synthetic+oil

in short, the wonderful US govt allows the (synthetic)process of certain oils to be legally advertised as 100% synthetic, tho they're not. that said, you likely won't realize much if any gain in FE with synthetics, real or not.

i'd stay away from 0w20 unless you live in a cold climate or just use it during winter. 0w30 is a better choice.
