As far as the Xb1 goes - I've actually driven one AND I liked it. It was automatic. The toaster styling I liked too, it has such awesome styling my 89 year old grandmother wants one (Xb1).

You need some wheel time in a Smart before you can get any creditability on bashing the Smart though.

The transmission isn't a strong point for many people, I did however recently take a poll from slightly over 100 Smart owners with over 2,000 miles on there car and asked them if the transmission bothers them anymore. 87% said it doesn't bother them - that being said Car & Driver and some other magazines drive the car around the block and say the tranny is a POS.

Friday I am going to pick up my NEW Smart - that's right Smart #2. I like the car that much I'm going to buy another one that isn't quite identical but very similar, Passion coupe. It has been in country for a while even though not in my possession.

F.Y.I. - turned over 13,400 miles this afternoon. Still running great though it is dirty - 500+ miles of dirt roads out that 13,400 will do that to a car even though I was it every couple of days.

Over-engineered by Germans, yes.
Feel free to come race , I'm sure all the locals would get a kick out of it considering most have F-series and Rams.

All I know is I hardly have any body roll while cornering.

I saw a smart with red aftermarket rims the other day!

No.

I would love to, but West Virginia is a pretty backward place,
so I doubt I'll know someone with one.

I got to drive a jacked up F250 Powers-troke though.

I have a question: Do you have to use Premium in the SmartForTwo?

Yeah I know this. But it would be entirely impractical for me, considering I'm usually with more than one friend, or taking a couple guys at work somewhere for lunch break.
If I could find an old Metro/Swift I would rather use that for school commutes anyway.

And you are lucky with the diesel Smart!

Does it have a good sound system?
A lot of Mercedes have Bose.

My car has the upgraded sound option, which is pretty decent - bass reflex boxes, tweeters, pretty good, but not Bose or Harmon Kardon territory.
