The GMC Terrain, the more upscale GM cousin, will also receive the same diesel powertrain for its 2018 redesign along with the gasoline 4 cylinder turbos:

It does, and we have a lot of Nissan models here that look clearly Renault-inspired, due to the Renault-Nissan merger (Ex: Maxima-Talisman, Murano-Espace).

That Renault is really sharp looking. Do they do a high performance model over there?

Yes, this is just the GT, the RS (renaultsport) is coming soon with over 300 bhp. The previous model held the title as fastest front wheel drive production car around the famous Nurburgring for a long time. The French really know a thing or two about how to set up a good handling car.

The numbers are in: 43 MPG, 670 miles of range, and B20 compatible.

Assuming B20 is biodiesel? Not keen on the vehicle itself, but can't argue with the figures, works out act 51.7 UK MPG which is respectable for a vehicle of its class. I just hope the diesel image hasn't been tarnished by the VW scandal, and more people give cars like this a try and realise the potential.

The larger the vehicle the more sense diesel makes, as they are more likely to do longer cross country trips where the economy and long rang is important.

I always like the aesthetic look of Renault. Its interior looks good also.

A big hurdle for diesel in much of the US is that diesel costs more than regular gasoline and even premium.

The 2.8L diesel in the Colorado has been well reviewed, hopefully this 1.6 matches it. The 2019 Silverado is getting an inline 6 diesel.

Still don't fully understand the price gap over there, diesel is less refined and therefore cheaper to produce. It's slightly more expensive here as it's in higher demand, but it's very close price wise. You would expect the low demand over there would determine a lower pump price.
