Obviously a solid bodied 4 cyl (or 3 !) manual trans car . Good parts support network . Available a/c (you don't have to use it ) . I'd vote an unmolested Honda mid to late 90's . The SL Saturns seem to be fairly decent and look pretty sharp in coupe form ( I know - *my* opinion ) . What happened ? Did the valves go bu-bye or an accident ?

If 2.0SPI got a Corolla, the "Chevy Prism" sister car would be a better buy, right?

2001 Chev Prism For sale! (manufactured like Toyota corolla) - $3300

what do you need from a car? do you need a back seat? do you need 4 doors? do you live some place where a motorcycle would do? also how capible are you when it comes to doing hands on work, and inspections?
I ask because we all have our own wish list, and there are vehicles like that CRX that is on Ebay right now for $600 or something crazy, where if you are mecanicly capible and have some time it could be an amazing car on a budget, but if you aren't, then you might spend $3000 paying someone else to fix it.

You can easily get a four door 88-91 Civic for at or under $3K.
