Question Aprilia RS125

Having owned one Italian vehicle... a Fiat 128, I came to know the company as "Fix It Again, Tony". I swore I would never own another Italian vehicle.

....BUT......

This looks like a simply awesome ride:

http://www.apriliausa.com/modelli/ro...nfo.asp?id=125

This thing gets 32 HP out of just 125 cc's, or about 250 HP per liter!!!! Compare that to say, a Corvette that gets ~400 HP out of 6000 ccs. Simply amazing specific power output.

Who ever heard of a 125 going at triple digit speeds? Driven slowly, It should easily get 150 mpg. And it's cheap! Just ~$5K simoleons.

It appears to be for track use. Is it street legal to drive TO the track? It has headlights.... Anybody out there know?

Not sure since it is a two stroke, but I read that an Aussie got 250 MPG on a 2 stroke cycle, might have been the same displacement.

regards
Gary

Having owned a RS125 and ridden it mostly on tracks, I doubt very much that it could do anywhere near 100 mpg.
Triple digit speed maybe, but not very safely, nor is it good for its engine.
They were a few street legal verions sold in the US, even the 250cc 2-stroke versions, they pop up once in a while on eBay. But neither are good choices as a dependable street purpose machines IMO.
