More than yours but then my tires are fairly high profile/rounded and My forks need to be rebuilt.

I don't see how you could be leaning at angles less than 45 degrees in every ride, not with that wear pattern.. that tire looks like it's never been pushed to the point of melting rubber.. I call BS on you.

Re: Car tire on a scooter

That last photo you posted kamesama980 shows a barely riden tire.
Only thing you been dragging on that bike is your feet!

I'm with cat0020 on that call.

Re: Car tire on a scooter

Now I wanna post pics of the tires on my Ninja.... Coming in the next day or two.

Chicken WHAT! My front tire is BALD all the way to the sidewall. Rear has about +/- 1/8 of a chicken strip.

New tires are on order! Getting the Kenda's.

Re: Car tire on a scooter

The front tire was replaced when I bought the bike, it is unknown how old the rear tire is. At this point I've put about 2,000 miles on the bike since I've bought it. Front is 1/4 inch, rear is 3/8 inch.

Re: Car tire on a scooter

I have been running a car tire on my honda valkyrie for years. I prefer it over a motorcycle tire. Better traction, smoother ride, and much better braking. I run 33 psi. I would suggest you try lowering the pressure a few pounds at a time til you find the "sweet spot." A new motorcycle tire for my valk costs several hundred dollars, and lasts 5,000 miles. welcome to the darkside.

Re: Car tire on a scooter

Here's a pic of my front.... yes I know there's a problem with this. lol

Here's the rear, hope the contrast is enough to see the chicken strip.

Keep in mind that rear tire is a 130. So what you're seeing is like 1/8" strip.

I might need to go look at the left side of the rear, that's the side I'm more comfortable leaning over on. I bet its less. I'll go see!

That's just normal wear pattern, left side of the front tire wear out quicker on all of my moto, since left turn distance is always greater than right turn on traffic pattern that stay on the right side of the road.

Plus the camber of road surface is mostly lower on the right side. The center of road is usually raised to channel water to the sides, so the left part of the tire gets worn more.

Re: Car tire on a scooter

Yes but my nike pulls strong to the right when you let go of the bars. I may be off on this but, I've just been associating that with the uneven tire wear.

PS: The rear tire looks chalky because a friend tried telling me a 250 won't do a burnout and I decided to prove him wrong at a stop sign on top of the white line. lol

Re: Car tire on a scooter

of course your bike pulls to the right. the road is sloped to the right.
