"Fair thee well" reducing clothing drag?

Although we have previously discussed that boat-tail helmets would be a safety hazard (try doing a shoulder check at 60mph) check out the faired rubber downhill skiing suit! The posture reminds me of a Ninja 250 duck?

Then there are rain suits for motorcycles that would reduce drag and cloth flapping. If you could withstand the jeers from the HD riders in their extremely high drag leather fringe...

This would probably be a bit hot on a sunny summer afternoon!

If the leather fringe is in the right place it might be lower drag than a plain leather leg or sleeve. It will act something like a flat plate splitter, to damp the "flopping" of the vortices behind the cylindrical section. It's not as good as a rigid flat plate of course, but could have benefits over a smooth cylinder.

I remember The RoadWarrior..To understand who he was, you have to go back to another time..the world was powered by the black fuel & the desert sprouted great cities..Gone now, swept away..two mighty warrior tribes went to war & touched off a blaze which engulfed them all. Without fuel, they were nothing..thundering machines sputtered & stopped..Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice
