Though he should have a long fuel log by now after he mentioned that he fills up from a 0.5l PET bottle - just imagine the many short 'tank' entries

I believe in long, detailed, comprehensive logs

LOL, short tank entries. Sounds like a former roommate of mine. He insisted his Buick got 20 MPG, but only when the tank was filled halfway. Said the car only got 13 MPG if he filled it all the way.

What time limit does the list have?

*sigh* And I'm not at the top with Teresa now. Cold boosts her appetite, even with the partial radiator cover I use. But it's mostly freezing now, I can't really do much about it.

Its a bug in the software, its **supposed** to drop off the list after 90 days with no fillups, but for some reason it seems to hold them longer sometimes.

I have tried eoc with my valkyrie, but it will not shift with engine off and clutch in, so I have to leave it in 5th and hold in the clutch. carpal tunnel starts to hurt after a couple of miles, so I gave up.

Our Ciliegia works the same way, so if I plan on a long FASed glide, I shift into neutral before turning off the engine. It needs extra attention, because it's hard to get out of N, it needs slowing down to like 30km/h (~20mph).

With Teresa it's easy to shift with the engine turned off, but it's still hard to get out of N while rolling too fast - it's scary how the gears grind when I try to do so. So I mostly hold the clutch too.

Where could you coast for several miles? The longest glide I've ever had was like 4km (2.5mi).

Why bother with a Valkyrie?

1500cc in-line 6 engine probably burns more fuel at idle than a 250cc engine traveling at 40 mph.

I average 45-50 mpg with my valkyrie, up her in the mountains. rarely go over 55 mph. on some of the hills you can coast for 5 or 6 miles. do it in my nissan all the time.

Re: Its Lonely at the Top

Mike, Great job with your Valkerie! I EOC a little on my bike but am concerned about potential damage without the pumped lubrication to the transmission with the engine off.
Merry Xmas all
