I think I did really well. It comes with an alarm system, wheel locks. rear speakers, kenwood sound system etc. 500,000 miles is my goal.

No rust in the rear wells yet? I was looking at a product called fluid film. I'm going to take the rear all out and rustproof the interior of the wells. They rust from the inside out. I would like to make her last. I wish I knew how many miles she had on her the odometer in the car when bought said 400,000 some but was told by the Hispanic that I'd had been replaced. The motor has been replaced and the odometer I put in says 190,000 it didn't always work right when I got it. All better now. If I were you i would change trans fluid check the brake and clutch master cylinder as it seems they all start to leak and weep a bit at this age. Also check the axle boots and seals. Does it have a/c? Thats my favorite part about this one.

I'm on another forum where Fluid Film is very popular. Based on what I've seen there, Fluid Film is not a permanent treatment, it needs to be re-applied regularly (despite "long-term" language in their marketing materials). Don't bother using it somewhere that you have to disassemble to access.

I would go with a common rubber/asphalt treatment...I think that's what's on my 32 year old Buick everywhere that there's no rust.

Yeah but does it or would it wash off of interior applications? I can see that on undercoatings it would wash off over time I'm just not sure I like spay on rubbercoatings. I'm afraid of outgassing and stinky interior. It would be used inside the car. And 40.00$ a gallon says it would undercoat 3 trucks so what like 5 whole eg hatches? Vx cx's are small enough and I hate working through undercoating at least this will wash off? What board cause I have found little info on the product.

PlowSite.com™ - Snow Plowing & Ice Management Forum is the forum where it's wildly popular. Those guys apply yearly or even a few times in the winter. They invest in super-duper spray guns to use with big compressors so they can have an easier time applying it. It sounds like it works great when you can do it like that.

I don't know if it washes off, falls off, its volatile fractions evaporate off, or what, but I wouldn't want to use it where I can't re-apply easily...and if working through undercoating bothers you then I wouldn't want to work through icky fluid film either.

If you're afraid of stinky interior DEFINITELY do not use Fluid Film.

Don't get me wrong; based on what I've read it's really great for undercoating a plow truck if you're equipped to handle it...but it just seems terrible for this particular purpose.

What about liquid (spray/paint-on) bedliner? That stuff doesn't stay icky.

I've though about all different things. The fluid film has very little voc in it or so it says. I was even thinking about heavy duty spray grease in an aersol can. I'm going to shop eastwood possibly use por15. Just don't know yet. Yeah I've got a compressor and all the slick tools I could get a cheep spray gun if I need it possibly for undercoating. Thanks for the link.
