hey y'all

Hey, I'm a n00b

I've been alternating from riding a bike all the time to driving. I used to be a bike courier/delivery guy. Unfortunately, now I have to (reverse) commute about 12-15mi one way.

I drive a 98 Civic LX. Before that I had a 92 Accord EX. Great car, smooth, comfy, sunroof, ABS. Still around, its my gf's now.

I'm a mechanical / materials engineer, so I'll be posting lots of nerdy stuff.

I'm also a motorsport fan, ironically. WRC, F1, MotoGP, Dakar yes; NASCAR, no. I don't believe in stopping much either I beat EPA on a 500 mile trip doing near 90 with a passenger and luggage for 6 (carrying stuff for another car). I like to leadfoot and coast, and time the lights.

See ya around!

Welcome aboard boxchain!

We love nerdy stuff here. Also most of us on the board share a hobby or interest in mortorsports as well. I actually autocross my Civic VX occasionally.

Welcome!

Who are you picking for the MotoGP champion for 2008? I think Stoner will still be hard to beat. Seems like Ducati still have a package that has moved forward even from last year.

Aerospace. It sounds a lot more interesting that it really is.

Yeah, I think we're economizing in our daily lives to work off the guilt of burning as much gas as possible to go fast on the weekends

I test drove a VX some years ago, it was immaculate but the guy wanted more for it than I had at the time. Haven't seen another for sale since. Bought the Accord instead, which was a fine car, but a gashog at 25/30

Stoner will be hard to beat. I like Pedrosa and Hayden as riders to watch. Still not counting out Rossi though.

Yeah, I think Honda and Michelin are angry this year. I hope it goes well for Nicky.

I'm going to keep a close watch on Toseland though. Seems like he has a good crew around him, and, while I don't expect him to make a huge splash this year, it's very interesting that he was able to do as well as he did on the WSB Honda in '07 and he has moved to Yamaha. I think 2009 might be very good for him. Of course, we'll know more after this year.
