Thumbs up New CRX hf man.

Hi I'm glad to find a site where gentelmen exchange ideas without all the hasseling and bad language.
My ride is a 89 CRX HF with 130K and Stock except for 14" american raceing Mags. It has 8 valves, 62 HP and doesnot like to wind above 3K RPM. It is still fun to drive. Best mileage 48.6 mpg @ 60mph(40 miles),65mph(140 miles) same day round trip (total 180 Miles)-Trying not go faster than 65mph was the only tactic I used.
I am looking forward to being involved with you GSers!

I envy that gas mileage, I only hope mine can do the same. (Just picked up a 91 HF)

Welcome, Papajohn. I love the CRXs, I used to own a 91 Si that got 40MPG with a 91 integra LS motor in it. Once you get used to the car and ways of driving it to save FE, you'll love it. One question though...you said it doesn't want to go over 3.5K RPM. Is the check engine light on?

Hi Papajohn -

CRX's are my all time favorite . Small, lightweight, nimble, fun, and practical. If I still had mine, it would have to have 90 + 97 + 90 = 270K miles by now. I've rarely kept a car over 100K untill now, but I would have kept the CRX and just poured money into it.

WELCOME!!!!

oh it will go above 3k but the torque is light. valves so small, and tranny is so long you need patience to wind it. It would like higher if it was a SI. But i would be getting tickets and buying more gas.

I'm jealous: I've got 6 valves, 55 hp. But I guess I have more hp/valve than you do...

Welcome to the site! Cool car, for sure.
