I have been up-shifting at 1900 rpm. I get to about 2100-2200 on the highway and have been trying not to go over that which is why I slowly lose MPH going up some hills. But the Corolla is incredible with being able to shift early and still having decent power.

What is involved in the installation of a scan device. I would love to get one.
I especially want to know if I'm accelerating "TOO" slowly...

Wow, I thought it would be hard to install.

I found a scangaugeII for 169.99. Is this a good price? Do they break easily, do they stay accurate?

I think that's the stock price...you can get the old model on ebay for a bit less usually.

I think they're pretty tough, from what I've heard. Same thing for accuracy.

If I am indeed getting in the low to mid 50s would the Scangauage really do anything for me or am I close to getting all I can out of a stock Corolla?
Any other Corolla people here getting higher than 55MPG? If so, what are you doing that I'm not?

WOW nice job with the Corolla. I think that the SG is a great tool and would help. There things that you just can't find out by feel and with instaneous feed back you can see what areas you need to work on. It also can clear CEL lights and store code. If you are going to be doing an mods to the car then it really is must. Either way great job with the Corolla.
