1994 Ford Ranger XL 6 cyl 5sp

6 cyl, 5 speed 1994 Ford Ranger XL getting piss poor gas milage.

My friend claims it gets 12mpg. It has taller gear ratios than my car, a 5000rpm redline and runs at lower rpms than my car (my friend shifts at lower rpms than I do in my Civic VX).

I don't think he's open to fussing with his tire pressure. But seems awfully low mileage. I think the 4 cylinder is rated at 25mpg.

3 liter or 4 liter V6? The 4 liter is a beast, and I don't mean that in a good way. I had a 1997. It was slow and inefficient.

4x4? Big gnarly tires?

Oh, right, it's 4x4. Tires look standard... Not sure the displacement. I'll try to find out.
