238mpg

Here is a concept designed by Volkswagen

It has a 299cc diesel engine that produces a whopping 8.5 horse power and has a 6 speed manumatic transmission. Not sure how light it is.

It is two passenger but tandem (like a bobsled)

I dunno, i got that info from wiki and it didn't mention weight or top speed. I can't imagine much tho!! It has an insanely low cd of 0.159. Compare that to a typical car of 0.35. It has a 1.7 gallon tank and a range of 400 miles. That translates to a fuel cost of a little more than a mile.

damn, it would be nice to have more info on it. id still rather have a bigger engine though. 399cc's, thats way tiny. 999cc would be much better imo. that thing must accelerate like molasses uphill.

yep, volkswagen one litre is it's name. Yeah, I think a 500cc engine would be good for car that size. 299cc approaching lawnmower status. 1 liter is kinda overkill. :P I think my VX is overpowered at 1.5 liters. just makes it that much more tempting to smash the throttle to the floor and feel the curves of the road. but it's nice to have a sporty car that gets 60+mpg

Is the project back on? I remember it came out, there was talks of poducing it - then scrapped due to mfr. costs (there's lots of difficult/expensive to produce magnesium components). A few months ago, I had heard the project was restarted as new tech made mfr. costs more feasible....

I'd totally ride in it
