Depends. I'd say that it would help FE, especially if it continues the taper somewhat.

I suspect that I will have to make the gearing ratios taller somehow to wring everything out of my engine, however it should be pretty impressive considering that it is less than half the size of the one in the crx. I am guessing after the aero mods, I should try and do it on the cheap through larger wheels (perhaps insight) running the best LRR tyres I can find.

I would venture to say that it probably helps. Mugen designed it, so its gotta be more than just looks.

Just visiting this thread that got made while I was away last month...

My 2 cents on the CRX spoiler: unless it continues the taper of the body at the rear, it was probably designed more for downforce than lowering Cd. It's hard to tell from the pic, but to me, it looks like it sticks straight out, horizontally.

Still, it's similar to the cardboard junk I tried on my car:

95metro tribute: cardboard partial boat-tail prototype - preliminary results

The boxfish is much slicker than even the sleekest shark.
Who would have guessed ?

Apparently Volvo did, except they assumed the name of the fish described it's shape.

If you were to model a car after an animal, I would pick the yellow finned tuna. Perfectly streamlined, and their acceleration is amazing...
