Thanks for the info everyone. I'm trying to figure out how much of a range I have to work with when trying out the pot mod... I have knock sensors, and my ECM can retard timing if needed, but I'd still like to be able to adjust to the current temp.

oh OK, so you're looking at max/min expected temps?
For max temp I'd plan for around 250*f, or slightly more if you want to play it safe. Min temp? How cold does it get out there?

Naw, I'm lookin' for the average IAT compared to outside temps at cruising speeds, which seems to be ~(0-20)+outside temp. Which is pretty nice imo... Although I think I may have found a much better mod.

It would be nice if you could go the other way with it, make it cooler. In the summers here when the OAT(outside air temp) gets to 95-100 F the IAT gets to hot and the timing is affected.

I've heard the engine is particularly resistant to detonation, with a low AFR of ~12:1and conservative timing, so I may be able to run leaner w/o the ECM cutting timing. Or... There's also the option of adjusting the MAF sensor for a leaner condition, and pulling the O2 sensor plugs so the engine can't adjust fuel trim in closed loop mode.
