Anyone have a Prius plug-in?

Curious if anyone here has converted their Prius to a plug-in hybrid? I know it's a leap in price, as is upgrading the battery pack, but it has GOT to be a lot more cost efficient.

Yeah. Try 35 big ones for a new plug in Prius.

I would rather go with the new VW up! car with the 2-cylinder turbodiesel that's coming out soon. Same mpg as the "Prius on steroids" without breaking the piggy bank and every other dang bank I have.

25 large for the Prius, 10 not as large for the aftermarket Li ion battery pack.

You could install more Ni MH batteries but you would put on more weight than Rosie O'Donnell at Luby's Cafeteria

It's aftermarket - Toyota won't sell it in the US (it is standard in Europe) because the EPA can't put out stupid MPG figures if you charge it all the time, not to mention people will quickly figure it's WAY cheaper than gasoline is. It was cheaper when gas was $2 - now that gas is over $4, it makes an excess of sense. Just wondering if anyone has gotten this mod for their vehicle.
