cool, I'll try and find out what it'd take to register it back here. Seems like shipping to New Orleans wouldn't be too bad.

What is free the bike or shipping or registering? Popimp was telling me people give away cars all the time over there because it cost 2000 to get them inspected every 2 years, don't know about bikes though.

It's got problems running and is too slow for his desires, plus, he doesn't have much time or money to fix/ride it, it seems. He was going to sell it but dropped the price from 20,000 en to free for me,

I've kinda been looking for a junker bike myself, for a gomi thing (video at bottom):

You guys aren't serious about shipping a little bike across country are you?!? Just start looking behind sheds and you'll find something without wasting so much gas/money on transport

Across country? More like across the world! Popimp got me thinking about all the great cars over there that they literally have to pay to junk and will even give away. I'd love to import a little Japanese vehicle. I guess shipping on a 250 bike couldn't be too bad if they are selling engines over here so cheap. Then again I'm sure they buy them by the container full.
