Auto Meter Ecometer

Was just browsing the garage and saw that View Click, R2D2 uses an Auto Meter Ecometer. There is a product review on You Tube, just enter Auto Meter Ecometer. I dont know what the cost is, but it may be a cheaper than buying a Scan Guage. It does average mileage and instant, it also has a bar graph for throttle on, throttle off. Does anyone know what the cost is?

$66-$70. CAN only, FYI. No throttle unfortunately, which is what I'm using most often these days on my SG2. Didn't see any reviews in the 30 seconds I spent looking.

Ordering.
More ordering.
Company item description.

Looks like a simple, less expensive ScanGauge alternative for people who only want to have a MPG display (no other OBDII data, code scanner, or statistic aggregation). I like the circular graph.

I was just thinking about how nice the circular graph is. Clear numbers and a graph mean those here that have trouble not crashing while trying to get good mileage might have a chance since the kiwi turned out to be a flop!

Unfortunately it's CAN only so I can't use it. As for throttle being mentioned above. A vacuum gauge is usually a great, cheap tool to use for measuring that.

Hmm....I wonder if that would mess with my warranty. Only nine more years!

CAN only?

Is CAN only meaning you can get it from Canada only, or does that mean that its a can style gauge, like an old tach?

Oh yeah, I should've said. ODBII has several different interface standards. CAN is the most recent protocol and became required in the U.S. in 2008. They have a compatibility list on the product page so you can make sure your vehicle will be compatible.

Scott, your 2002 Focus is almost certainly PWM, not CAN.
