Bad mileage for 2014 es 350 15mpg!!

My 2014 es350 is getting horrible mileage around 15 it is mostly city driving but 15 is too low. Lower than the epa rating of 21 mpg and i tried using the premium fuel and i changed the air filter my driving habit and i took it to lexus to inspect it and they said there is nothing wrong with it. So i am not sure if the car is a flaw or what?

Do you do short journeys, with a cold motor? EPA is with a thoroughly warm engine.
More likely your driving style/habits.

The tire pressure is good all around? Low tire pressure will hurt mpg. Good luck getting it sorted out.

I kind of assumed that would be one of the first things he would check or at least the Lexus dealer would check.
One other question. Is this a recent drop in mpg or have you just purchased the car?

Yeah, I'd think so too but sometimes the most obvious things are the ones we skip while searching for the fancier more exciting answer. Not saying it too well but maybe it makes sense.

Yes, not everybody thinks to check the obvious things.

I have tried checking the tire pressure before and got it to 35/36 psi and there was no significant difference other than it being around 16 mpg and i bought the car about a year and a couple months it had 90k mileage now it has 102k miles and it is a recent drop as before in texas it used to give me 23 mpg around that and i got a significant drop from 23 to 15 mpg.

Where are you now, and how long is your drive?

I get great mileage during Scotland's summer and rubbish during the winter. Especially when it is wet. Rain totally destroys good mpg, so if you have moved from warm dry Texas to someplace like cooler, wet, Louisiana, then you would expect the mpg to take a dive.

It's really hard to find why a car won't achieve EPA miles-per-gallon stipulations. In my opinion, it is usually related to the driver and the conditions the car is driven in compared to what the EPA does.

There is a long list of potential reasons for relatively poor fuel mileage. About all one can do is start checking off the list to see what works.
