Best speed/mpg ratio?

Im bored so here's another thread to fill up. Just went almost 50 miles (50.8 mpg 40 highway/60 city) and in the end my best ratios are as follows:

35 mph/ 60 mpg (with ac its 44 mpg)
43 mph/ 68.8 mpg (with ac its 52 mpg)
55 mph/ 60 mpg (with ac its 48 mpg)

so my sweet spot should be 43 mph at 1700 rpms in 5th, flat road of course.

And since I was using AC on/off I didnt FAS as much as I could BUT rolling down the hill in N at 60 mph resulted in 200 mpg. I've never seen a number so nice hehe, and yes the AC was on!

Of course a FAS would make that number nicer but it was too hot~ (20 degrees C)

ALso most of the time the AC was on the lowest setting, jacking it up made the mpg numbers suffer even more but the first setting is always the biggest hit, then its linear from there I have to assume.

20C is too hot? Phil, Phil, Phil. At 33C I am still not using AC. You need to sweat a little. Sweating is healthy.

I still have not used the A/C in my Metro yet this year. It kills my mileage.

A/C off = 50+ MPG
A/C on = 31 MPG

Still I am glad I have the A/C because sometime you just can't show up all sweaty.

I rarel use my AC. But sometimes it's too hot. If I'm driving on the streets I open the window. If on the freeway I try to sweat it out, but sometimes it's just too hot.

I mostly use the AC on the downhills that are steep enough to require engine braking.

aha for today i had my long sleeve shirt and a small light jacket on. Plus passengers so I had to keep them happy too

My non-working ac prevents me from using it. My parents are crazy with the ac (they never roll down the windows, it is either heat or ac).

43 is snail speed. I would go 55.

Are these three readings in 5th gear?

If so, how do you get better mpg at 43mph than @ 35mph?

^ i'm not sure, my MAP was the same, but i guess i should have recorded engine load too. Maybe the rpms at 43 mph was in the engine's efficent sweet spot, while 35 mph was going at a slower speed while giving probably the same or more amount of gas, plus I have a high potenial to lug the the engine.

one more to add and this requires a light foot.A MAP reading was less than 4 and my mileage was at high as 80 mpg/@ 20 mph. So maybe next time I'll keep note and try to add more data to represent my figures.

Can you believe it, and I don't like this car anymore ;p even though it has been a reliable beast.

i get around 50mpg city & highway combined.

i removed all my of air conditioning components since it stopped working and was just dead weight i just use the vent blower and suck it up.
