The engine is only a 1600. The carb is for a 2.2 or 2.3L.
Wanted a better throttle connection and not to run a spacer/adapter.

Ah, that's what concerns me about it. My Tercel is only 1500cc and I don't want to have to figure out what jetting to use and source all of that and the adapter seperately.

No, supposedly only the California model has that. I doubt it's worth the effort to install it either since even the CA model is not FI.

It's not FI, but I can get 30+mpg@55mph in a 3000lb truck with the drag coefficient of a brick and no OD. It sounds to me like the carb is running way, way rich. The nice thing about the carbs w/ the oxygen sensors is they'll always run at stoich during cruise, since the oxygen sensor controls fuel flow.
