d15z1 into a Del Sol??

I allways liked the del sol but I would like a higher MPG car. Is it a straight forward swap.. Trans engine ECU and Harness.. There is an SI close to me that is pretty cheap.. I was thinking about picking it up driving it till it dies and piecing together the swap.. while I am still driving it.. LMK
thanks
jim

I've always like the Del Sol as well, you'd end up with a cool car.

It would be bolt-in. If you bought the model with the vtec d-series motor. You would only need to run the wiring for the 5-wire o2 sensor. The rest of the wiring would be done already.

The civic/delsol share identical dimensions for the drivetrain.

Dont' forget the EGR control box... that's one or two extra wires.... so you'd need to run 3 wires total.

That's assuming you get the SI (which has a vtec engine).

I say do it.

you can read through my build for more info...I found small differences throughout the build/swap.

I have a '92 DX and swapped in a '95 VX.

Yes, swap in a VX/CX transmission.... but also remember that you can sell your Si engine and trans for a nice little profit.
