Finally broke the 100MPG segment

I got to drive the Prius on the commute today. Been looking for alternate routes that would be better suited for the Hybrid. I choose a route which eliminated most highway segements and would have moderate congestion. The drive time 50 minutes each way and a total mileage of 46.5 miles round trip. First leg on a cold start and a stop at the bank on the way netted 104.95 MPG. The return was 89.23 making the trip total 96.47 MPG.

Woohoo!

Finally in Metro P&G territory!

Seriously though - were you using the Prius' inherent P&G abilities?

I don't think I'll ever see a 130 MPG RT.

Yes. I still got a ways to go on the learning cruve just don't get to drive it enough. I'm finding that the electric motor helps on slight inclines and the top of climbs to increase the FE without draining the battery to much and really extending the glide portion. Hardest part is everything backwards from what I'm used too as far as routes and speeds.

Well congrats again. I think it would be a LOT of fun to drive one of those. Sorry to hear you don't get to drive yours enough.

I guess your in the +100 club now. Very few people have ever get over a 100 mpg.
