Finally: MPFI and OBD1 Swap Completed

This is basically a bragging thread. Did all the work myself, even the wiring, oh no! Even the ecu chipping, !

Here's my OBD1 ecu that I chipped and never put a case on, I tell people not to kick it but other then that I don't give a damn.

WTF! My first engine shot ever!

Close up of the intake manifold and ****. I'm still using stock 240cc injectors, will swap them soon to the CX/VX 190cc injectors.

Wrong throttle cable bracket, barely holding on!

Kickdown cable? Where's that go? :P

The clamp making the intake arm think it's 16mm smaller than it is, 40mm TBs are the ****.

Hacked off the end of my intake box to barely fit this thing on.

But most of all, it's done! 35.6 MPG with a rather severe vacuum leak, hoping to be up there with it fixed, and it's still an auto!!!

idle surge is either a vac

idle surge is either a vac leak,IACV,ir FITV
since you mentioned startup...could be the FITV
though it doesn't directly cause surging
it is a piece of wax heated by coolant...when the car warms up it closes off the port reducing air bypass...and lowers the idle...

probably a vac leak...did you use a new intake mani gasket...?
typical to have a leak there...
check all your vac hoses for cracking
take off your IACV and clean the screen

also cx/vx injectors are 240cc
the 190cc injectors were on the obd2 hx motor and maybe the y7 cx...
you would have to splice in the obd2 clips to use those...
and the gains would probably eliminate themselves due to the function of the o2 sensor compensation...

also i have an ecu cover to send you...
its not worth risking a spilled drink etc on ruining your ecu and a ruining car dude...

COngrats on the swap! I expect some competition from you now.

Sorry I can't help with the surging idle thing. If I had that problem I would ask you what to do.

I have no iacv. Also, I previously had a vacuum leak from the bad pcv, but I no longer do, this is only during startup. The iacv is fine also, I have cleaned the hell out of it and it was sent from jared with it working.

I did. I have also sprayed carb cleaner in every reasonable spot to verify it isn't sucking it in. Also, with the pcv leak going block that and the iacv it died, not getting air from anywhere else.

I swear they are 190cc, and the idea is for a finer spray pattern, I will adjust the chip accordingly to say they are 190cc.

I won't be competing with you until I'm manual. I'll talk to disco about it later and see what he has to say.

you have an IACV i can see

you have an IACV i can see it in the pictures...
its on all intakes
if you mean it isn't hooked up then you will throwing codes on your computer and is DEFINATELY the reason you are surging...

the hunting is cause by something...
its merely being missed or a faulty component...
what ecu are you running...?
if its chipped then what stock map did you use and what program (uber or crome)

peace

EDIT: I have no FITV,

EDIT: I have no FITV, sorry.

It's hooked up and fine, when I had it unhooked it didn't surge anyway.

Crome, P06 map, disabled o2 heater.

Got any suggestions on how

Got any suggestions on how to do such? It idles awfully high during warm up also, so I think I might need to fudge around with the ECT compensation also.
