Grill block behind grill?

Does a grill block behind the grill help FE? Has anyone increased mileage because they installed a grill block behind the grill or behind the openings in the bumper? I'd rather not put the block in front of the grill. Thanks for any input.

one guy on here has done this. 67 Satellite has said something about doing it to two of his vehicles but he didn't say anything about gains.

I think you should still see some gains from it. the grill block helps in two ways. you get the aero help, not sure how that would be affected, and you get a quicker heat up time on your motor, that part shouldn't change whether you have it in front of or behind. so I think you will see at least part of the gains. you may see all of the benefits. I am not too good on the aero part of it yet. still learning. I understand the basic concepts at least.

if you are worried about the looks of it, check out the one I made out of plexi-glass (fake plexi-glass) I have a pic in my garage. it still isn't great but better than some out there. I can understand that you want it still looking semi-stock. I have struggled with that myself.
