Re: GS members with "personal bests" on their latest fill-ups. Woo hoo!

Had a new all-time automobile best of 44,4mpg last Thursday...driving my fiancee's '00 Echo! Pretty much all freeway @ 60-65mph that trip has me searching for an '03-'05 Echo w/tach I can strip down as my personal FE commuter/errand car...with FE like that, I suddenly don't care if the damn thing has centre-mount gauges!

My Dad just bought a '10 Road King Police Shrine in October, and his best tank was also with midgrade rather than 93 oct...maybe there's something to it. I'll have to try it in my Sporty, though I don't know that results will apply to your TC88/96 motors...

Record distance tank on January 1, 554 miles on 10.547 gal., for a 52.53 mpg average, in my xB. I've had a couple of fills with better mpg, but none that have carried me farther.

I clobbered my previous record on Feb 6, 1000 km (621.37 miles) on a single tank. I filled at 621.6 miles with 10.563 gals, for a 58.84 mpg average. My tank holds 11.9 gal, nominally. If I can do this in the winter, I might be able to get a 750 mile tank in the summer.

1989 Honda CRX HF. 47.2 tied a personal best. Subsequetly wapped 13" VX and Vredestein Quatrac2 LRR tires for HX 14" and a set of Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S. We'll see how much of a hit I take! (I want to swap the stock HF 8.9" front rotors for 10.3" or 11" brakes. I may live to regret not going with the Si 9.5" brake which would still fit inside the VX wheel.)

I'm just curious, how did you do this? What techniques are you employing to help you get such ridiculous numbers??!! My girlfriend has an '06 xB and I'm sure she'd love to know some of your secrets!

Re: GS members with "personal bests" on their latest fill-ups. Woo hoo!

Sort of sad numbers for a '95 civic, but I just got over 35 mpg! which is the best I have gotten in any car I have owned. I'm hoping to get a tank into the 40's this summer. Which will help a lot on my 90 mile daily commute.

This car has a lot of potential, no accessories, just an alternator. I've also got programmable ECU, right now I've got a few maps, I've been using, E-85, D16 (much leaner than the B16), stock b-16, and spoon b16a2 with 9000 rpm fuel cut, I don't use that one much haha.

This weekend I'll be blocking up the huge gap where the a/c condensor used to go, and hopefully getting the bumper to stick back on there.

Just topped off my 4Runner and got my best mpg ever. You have to remember, this is a gas-guzzling SUV, not a Honda Civic or Geo Metro.

Anyway, EPA for my 4Runner is 15 mpg for city and I just came in at 21.51 mpg. I drove 397.1 miles on 18.459 gallons and it was ALL city driving. That's 43.4 percent over EPA. Not bad, but I can do better! Goal is 50 percent over EPA!!!

37.54MPG or 15.97KM/L with the HiJet, even hauling some firewood and going up the logging roads
