Help me get the best out of my Fusion Titanium, pls.

So, I am a few gallons into the use of my brand new Ford Fusion Energi.

Currently using the 120V charger, but I plan on getting the 240V installed soon...

Here's my question. When I'm not just driving locally and using electric miles, this is my pattern to get down to where I'm going:

1) A few miles of city streets.
2) Onto the highway which is uphill for about four miles
3) Down the hill on the highway anywhere between ten to fifteen miles
4) City driving

Does anyone have advice as to what modes I should set in the car to get the best mileage?

Appreciated.

- Steve

This is just based on theory rather than practice... so take my suggestions with a pinch of salt.

For the city driving (stop/go, slow speed), you should definately be using the electrical drive.

For the highway uphill, you should be using the petrol engine.

For the highway downhill, try using the electrical drive if it allows you enough range. Keep your speed reasonable to reduce aero drag, so that it doesn't suck too much of your battery.

There is greater chance of good replies on the car-specific forums. Do a search for "Fusion energy forum;" I found 2, Fusionenergyleague and fordfusionenergiforum.

I have a C-Max and so participate on fordcmaxhybridforum. Lots of functionally usable advice on my car, so I expect the same for yours.

HAve fun,

Frank

That said, the fusioneneryleague is for nuclear fusion, not Ford Fusion... should have read more.
