I put the nozzle in the tank, set the nozzle handle holder thingy, get back in car, wait for click, get out of car, return nozzle to the pump, close gas cap, drive off.

It just shows how often Americans need to refuel, in the UK we dont have automatic fillers, my last car only held 4 gallons so it takes seconds to fill.

I don't think the posts have demonstrated our refueling frequency but rather our laziness.

I for one hardly every have to refuel. Just look at my MPG stats. It probably won't be until June or July that I will have actually filled up my vehicles enough to actually begin to get some stats.

True, depends how many miles you do of course, but most American cars do have a "gas guzzling" reputation thats pretty hard to shake!

I've always filled at the lowest automatic speed, and wait for the automatic shutoff.
