I don't think that I would consider myself lucky to have highs of 70+ degrees in February. I actually like the cool crispness of winter. Of course, we don't have temperatures as cold as 0F here in California at low altitudes (mountains are another story). But I think there is something to be said about having cool nights in the 30s with relatively cool days in the 50s, rather than 24/7/365 warmth. To me, 80+ degrees is just not extremely comfortable.

I hate winter. Besides it being bone-chilling cold, it very much hurts the FE, roads are always dangerous, our family business takes a nose dive, and there is nothing to do!

I cant wait for Spring, I'm going to beat my record..

Ithaca is a cold climate relatively, since five months of the year are cold. In recent days we are getting down to 7 deg F at night and low 30s in the day. In the summer it can be hot, like much of the east coast, but a good part of the summer is reasonable. We live in the mtns outside ithaca, so it is about 5 deg cooler where I live, than by the lake in ithaca.
Yeah summer is going to be nice for mpgs...but I love the winter too. Its the only time of year I have time to be on the internet, and sit by the fire and read.
