high idle is around 1,200-1,500 rpm, it is in this mode while warming up (first 5+ minuts in cold weather) after that it should drop down to 750rpm with lights, heater fan, and other electronics turned off.
my vacuum leak is where the lower pcv hose fits in to the seperator box on the back side of the engine under the intake manifold, that gromit drys out and lets air leak.
I got an ECU coming in a week. Mechanic thinks may be culprit for still fast idle. I idle at about 1100RPM - every once in awhile it drops to like 800 or 700 but only for a few seconds.
I wonder how much the mechanic will charge to install my ECU and o2 sensor in one go? I hope less than $100. Anyone reckon that's about 1 1/2 hours of labour?=$90
I understand if you don't have the stuff for the o2, but you can install the ecu yourself pretty harmlessly. You just gotta pulla back the carpet, 4 bolts, and unplug it. Piece of cake. The o2 would take much less time.
