When you unplug it, the valve stays in the position it was last in, so yes this generally means whatever RPM you were in at the time. To get the desired effect, fully warm up the engine then sit idling at a dead stop, THEN unplug the IAC. It should hold a 650-700 RPM idle.

It threw an error code when I flicked the switch back and forth while driving. It does NOT seem to throw a code when I flick the switch with the engine/car off or even with the engine on idling at a stop.

Carlos, I'll try to snap a pic this week.

That's the way I tried it to get the 2400 rpm idle. Unplugged it while idling, then turned it off to reinstall the air intake, and when I restarted it, I got the high idle.

Any thoughts?

Finally took pictures

Here are my extra switches (so far). The red safety switch is my manual fan switch (necessary with grille block). It was formerly my intake liquid injector switch. The black switch is my IAC enable/disable switch.

(please see my garage)

Then I took some photos of what my center vents look like when the fan switch is on. Basically a while ago I had taken off the dash, drilled holes in the tops of the plastic heating ducts, and shoved blue LED's into the holes.

(please see my garage)

Thanks for the pix. I like the safety cover. I also like that you did the passenger seat delete.
