UPDATE:

I'm now testing a new 1.5L D15 engine that's N/A running a VX transmission.

My old setup is in my sons Civic and we will be doing some more test with it also. But I needed to see if a high compression N/A engine could out perform the old turbo setup.

eh, well you know the story...
emissions, cost, making the car suitable for the general public.
Our cars have short 5th gear because the average Joe likes to mash the gas in 5th gear and expects decent acceleration. Lean burn was killed by tighter emission regulations.

For someone who has the ability to modify their car, there's nothing like tailoring it to your own needs.

Looks like it exhausts right into the cabin air-intake........

Good performance, and super mileage. I think the masses could use a small car like this. Yea, it would need refinement for production, but the ideas are there. Awesome work! some big manufacturer should hire you to be on their design team!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Its been a tough last few months. I need to let everyone know that I gave up on this turbo setup.

After doing a ton of testing I found out that the top mount manifold did not perform like the old turbo setup when it comes to FE. It works awesome for performance!!! But I need the best of both worlds and it just didn't cut it. On light load the turbo just didn't do anything and just became a restrictor. I had my doubts but now its a proven bad idea.

So now were testing a whole different turbo and manifold setup. Its a cast iron manifold with a 57trim T3/T4 turbo. Hopefully this turbo manifold will give us the correct light load to overcome pump loses.

Why a turbocharger? Why not a belt driven one?

Today's turbochargers will out perform any belt driven supercharger in every aspect by utilizing waste exhaust energy.
