I bought my 92 Fed VX with 160,000 miles on it. The guy I bought it from said he was only getting around 38mpg with it and he didn't take care of the car. I drove it home about 400 miles the day I bought it. I kept it between 65and 70mph on the highway just because I didn't want to push it too hard. I ended up getting 56mpg on that trip. I just took another trip that was about the same distance and got 55.5 mpg. If I drive it 75 to 80mph it will still get around 45 to 47mpg. These cars can get great mpg but that can go way down depending on how hard you drive it. I think the worst mileage I ever had was 38mpg but I was driving it hard and fast that tank. I did have to change the oxygen sensor this last smog because it threw a cell. Just wanted to give my experience with my VX.
