I've been able to find most everything I need from a local junkyard. I think they have 3 or 4 different metros. I agree that they are pretty easy to work on, kind of like a big go-kart. Compare that to my 89 cougar xr7, which is usually a big pain with it's over stuffed engine bay and extreme mass of everything (I still love and enjoy it though).

I wish I could find a 4 door wagon Metro like you have.

Thanks , It is a useful configuration. I can easily haul people or cargo. The other day I bought several 10 foot sections of EMT conduit for my recumbent build project, and they fit quite well (they did stick out the hatch by 10-11" though). It helps not to have a passenger seat installed .
I truely do like it.

Oh - you should start a thread in the human powered forum about your bike project. I want to make one too.

Also, when I decided to bite the Metro bullet, I started looking for a 4-door. They're hard to find with 5-speeds though. From my searching, I learned that most of them were made with autos.

I'll do that, if and when I get time and enough warmth to start it.

Now that you mention it, I haven't seen any with the same configuration as mine (not counting color schemes ). If I do see a 4 dr hatch it's usually on E-bay, and it's an auto.
