Kudos on the new Accent. Another new drivetrain to watch!

Congratz on the new car!

Lets us know how it drives, mpg, brakes, corners, Pro's and Con's.

I like the spoiler thingy at the top of the rear glass. Reminds me of JWXR7's kamm back.

Why are you saying goodbye to Stuart? You just purchased the car recently. I like your new Silver Accent, and hope you get great mileage in the future. It will take a few thousand miles to break-in. I was told about 4000 miles for my Silver Yaris.

My dad is looking for a new car (with less maintenance costs than a Mercedes). Between the Accent and Yaris I can't decide which is better. The Yaris seems like a more solid car, with slightly better mileage, but the Accent has more for the price. The Yaris puts ABS and side air bags as options, which add a thousand to the price. But, it seems like a better car.

I think that if you are going to drive it 'til it dies, go Yaris, and pay extra for ABS and side air bags. But that's just how I think.

My wife has an '01 2Dr Accent with 5 speed which she bought new in 2001...we regularly get between 38-43 MPG. My sister-in-law just purchased the same car you bought...an '07 2 Dr w/ 5 spd and she has not been able to get over 32 MPG. Its a sweet car, but they did something along the way to kill off the mileage. She doesn't drive like a crazy lady and spends most of her miles on the interstate...I'll be curious if you get much more than 32 MPG...

We rented a Yaris way back in '02 when touring Ireland and were astounded with the mileage...it had a different engine than we get in the states, I think it was a 1.3 VVTi. We drove around the ENTIRE COUNTRY and only put in 20 euros of fuel.

I saw a 07 Accent this morning. The 3 door is a good looking ride. I would think it would be right in there with a Yaris.

Got my first couple hundred miles on the car. Filled up today and first tank, utilizing conservative driving, gave me 36mpg. Not the best, but should improve with driving habits and break in. One thing that this vehicle lacks is a decent overdrive ratio. At 60mph I am taching a hair under 3,000 rpms. Only other comment is a notchy trans when shifting. Besides those two items, Its a most enjoyable ride. Very quiet, smooth over bumps (even with tires at 50psi), handles good, excellent warranty and the price was right. I don't know that I will be able to compete with the Yaris in mpg, but I will give it my best!

Hey roadrunner, or any other Yaris owner, what rpm are you running at 60mph in 5th?
I think that this is the one item that may limit my highway mpgs in the Accent.
