304.4 mi - 65.85 mpg (US)

scangauge tank distance was only off by 1%, but it under reported fuel used by 4.8%. hmm.

yes, i filled up before i used half a tank, but if i waited until E, it would be late june. i'm not that patient.

my cumulative mpg finally broke 50. yay. but i'm still waiting for the "last 3 months" programming change before i put the MPG image in my sig

feet to the flames? nuh-uh!

feet to the flames? nuh-uh!

my 65.85 is only 43% above my (unusually high :? ) EPA average.

looks like your last tank was 82% over EPA. there's no way i'm going to get that high. (...unless i stick exclusively to my optimized test route and restrain my highway driving to 55 km/h!)

i guess it's too hard (hilly) for you to tell at what steady speed your car is yielding its EPA highway number, eh?

No, I have never gotten 38MPG before in the Del Sol. From my experience with the Prius and many other cars, it seems that 65-70 MPH is where they all were at the EPA highway number, without AC of course.

I just filled up tonight.

I just filled up tonight. Good numbers! I traveled 415.2445 miles(lousy correction factor!. I took 9.17 gallons. This figures out to 45.28 mpg. Way cool. 8) This was my first tank of adding FFT Fuel Catalyst. Thanks FrankinMaine! Looks like it's time to start an experiment thread.

Thanks MetroMPG. If this weekend goes as expected, that tank could very well be below average. Updates will follow when I get home Sunday evening.

This morning, inspired by

This morning, inspired by Wayne's invite to the Tour de Sol, I smashed my previous best 71.71 commute to work with a 75.09.

Current tank, 175 miles, 67.55 MPG.

No change in technique, just no one on my bumper and I hit all of the lights. When no one is on my bumper my ign off coasts are much longer and I can coast over peaks that I would normally have to bump start over. I had the same FE at the low elevation point yesterday (95.8) but ended up blowing it because I tried to draft a truck at 65-70 on the 6 mile uphill highway segment. I also had dreadful luck with the lights after the drafting mistake which ended up with a 71.X trip.

Today everything went right.
