I'm just about to add two tanks to my gaslog. Both are above my running average so it will help with all of my stats.

I just changed the serpentine belt in the Aerostar. Guess what? It has a belt-driven fan...doh!

It occurred to me that since I switched to lightweight wheels/LRR tires and increased tire pressure, I have not revisited my highway FE. Before the change when I had the larger, heavier non LRR tires at 55 PSI, I recorded 58 MPG at 55 MPH.

Today I repeated the test at similar temps. For the same 15 mile RT, I recorded 62 MPG at 55 MPH. Not bad considering that I went back to the stock springs/ride height and it was raining. Tire pressure was significantly higher than 55 PSI however.

I targeted 60 MPH on the speedo which is 56 MPH actual. The tach indicated 2400. Swapping to the CX tranny will drop those RPM's down to 1900. I'm hoping that will get me up to 65 MPG at 55 MPH and 75 MPG at 45 MPH. Only time will tell. Just need to get that tranny swapped out!

Ben,
Do you need directions to my house?

Yes, enjoy the graduation. And congrats for the accomplishment.

Let me know when you are ready for a road trip. I will provide directions at that time.

Just posted a tank. 531 miles on 12 gal. for 44.2 mpg. 90% hwy, ave. speed 40 mph by SG. SG showed 43.7 mpg for the tank.

Gunning for a top ten slot.

I like the new top 10 list based upon last 90 days. That will make it much easier to get my numbers up because my mileage used to be pretty low. Look out MetroMPG I have my eye on that #2 position.

TireRack finally got me the 145r12's! Just had them mounted/balanced tonight on my powder coated rims. I set the psi at 47.5 (may back it down to 40 or so) and what a noticable difference between these and the 155s. I can coast a lot farther now and will be taking advatage of as much 'engine off coasting' as my commute will allow.

My fill up tonight was a 55.06mpg tank...
I really am counting on these to put me into the 60's. A tank or two will tell! The alternator disabling did not give me as much as I hoped for, but definately has put me into the mid to high 50's consistently.
