On the street I pretty much hit my limit unless I get taller LRR tires and EBH which will help out a lot.

I bet theres alot more to be had in the car Compaq888. 85% of it is in the right foot and tatics.

I know how it is to hit a ceiling. My 00 Ranger is a pain in the arse to drive for FE. Getting much above 30 mpg in it is a pipe dream. Why i dont hardly drive it anymore.

The Civic is getting testie at the 50 mpg mark.

Just did my best ever into work segment in the Civic. 55.2 mpg per the ScanGauge. With 20 to 25 mph head winds for this afternoon i could very well loose it as a good day over all.

I agree. My father has a 06 HCHII, it is great except for the CVT automatic...why did they stop making it with the 5MT? It seems like the upper limit for me is about 70MPG for the HCHII (under ideal conditions). With a manual it would be about 75-80 I guess.
I'm not sure it would need the rear disc brakes, because you barely ever need the regular brakes (with the regenerative brakes).

Psyshack, were you numbers this morning due to a tailwind or just because and the headwind is just forecasted?

I figure they stoped with the 5MT due to socalist marketing. The best for the mass's type thing. At;s seem to out sell MT's it seems. Im sure a HCHII would alow a skilled driver. Key word DRIVER, do much better than the CVT.

As for the brakes. I wont have drums. Ive pleaded my case many times concerning this. If I wanted turn of the century tech in my braking system I would by a model T or A. heck if drums are OK lets just do band brakes.

I had a very very slight tailwind this am. No more than 3 mph. Just a puff here and there. Will see a ubber headwind this afternoon. It is forcast. We have had constent southern winds in the afternoon for months. Its a sure bet!

Haha, socialist marketing...Iono if that's the right term for it.

I think it's more likely that they figured the cvt would have a higher EPA rating and they're trying to keep that up while realizing that a manual won't sell very well and will cost money to implement in that model.

53.7 on the way home from work, a new high for me. I actually continued to improve when I got off the highway, which made me happy.
