Wasn't meant to be mean, just funny. Anyway, I don't know what the dono thingy means.

If we're assuming that all the calibration on the MID is correct, which I doubt since I haven't calibrated it, for what that's worth, I got 48.9 mpg on the drive home from school last night, the engine was running 81% of the time, and I can't think of anything unremarkable besides the fact that my FE in 5th at 30 doesn't seem very different from 5th at 55, *shrug* When I get dan's chip (prolly on tuesday) I'll fill up, go through a tank, calibrate, and then I'll start adding dailies and asking questions.

So the MID showed 20.80 km/L? If your chip was set the same as the chip you sent me, the fuel parameter is 11067 and the distance parameter is 2572. Since your tires are about the same diameter as mine, the distance parameter should be close to 2482, so the distance was overstated by 4.4%. But since you have the 190cc injectors, your fuel useage was overstated by 26.3%. So 126.3/104.4 = 1.209. So it is possible that youe actual FE was 1.209*48.9 = 59.1 MPG.

I'm not too surprised about the 5th at 30 and 5th at 55 observation. The engine is much more efficient at 1700 RPM (55?) then it is at 900 RPM (30?). Also with your awesome CdA, the aero drag isn't really that bad at 55.

Yeah, but I figure you're only a day's mail, mehbe two at worst. *shrug*

Anyway, I dunno, I'll just sit on my *** and wait for calibration time, and just worry about doing comparitively better and learning how to pulse and glide with engine off better. I can coast for freaking ever from 40 to 30, then bump it in 5th and get right back up to 40, it's surprising.

I figured the slight difference in the speeds was mainly due to the fact that unlike most people, my rpms in 5th climb very very slowly, which will make speed less of an issue for me than someone like jangeo who is at 3500 rpms or something silly at 65 mph.

EDIT: I think I've already found the perfect test course. Out in the country, pleasant drive, no one around, and not too far from home. Plus the speed limit is 45 so it's right around that speed where I can speed up to 65 if I want to make a speed versus mpg graph but I can still go slow enough to do some engine off pulse and glide.

My RPM's at 55 are 2500.

Mehbe I should swap to a CX tranny?

Sounds like a good test course by the way. I don't have anything close to me like that.

BTW, I just made another adjustment to my tire pressure. I'm going out for a drive.

Glad to see you've got the MID going. This is exciting. I'm such a nerd!

And you found a test route too - fantastic. Looking forward to seeing another driver able to do experiments. Graphs...
