The price of diesel is stuck at about $2.60 around here. Gas is about $2.10. Diesel used to be cheaper than regular, now it's more tham premium. The new EPA low sulfur rules have kept the price up, and I don't see an end to it ant time soon.

I can't take the fuel bill anymore, and ordered a chip from Granatelli Motorsports. Supposedly, they guarantee 3 mpg better mileage. I'll let everyone know if I see an improvement.

about a year ago I had two VW diesels sitting in the driveway, an '82 and a '85, I bought them (cheap) with the idea of maybe useing one of them as a long distance commuter vehicle, and selling the other one as a way to brake even, I ended up selling both of them after realizeing that my VX could get close to the same mileage, excelerat better, start in the winter without an engine heater, really tho, the main thing that I didn't like about the VW diesels wasn't the diesel engine, but VW's high mantence, needing cv joints, shocks, timing belts, shifter linkage, it's just to much to go wrong every 40,000 miles.
if I had kept them, I would most likely have looked in to running wast oil, or homemade bio-diesel, or maybe even look in to growing our own oil crop.
