The problem you have with mounting the fuel injectors by the TB is that you would then take away the one injector per cylinder. You'd essentially end up with a carb system.
My thinking was that with the increased vaporization I could even reduce the number of injectors. Also, with the injectors still being controlled by the ECU it would be close to a TBI setup which, if I remember right, is what the 60'ish mpg Metro's used.

TBI is good, I dunno about

TBI is good, I dunno about ITBs for mileage though, but more injectors are generally mileage friendly for a more accurate spray. Add another set of spark plugs?

ITB are so cool. I wish I

ITB are so cool. I wish I had that. Most of the highend sports car now have ITB. The new M5 has it and the engine revs to 8400rpm, LOL.

In a last minute turn of

In a last minute turn of events, Wayne G over at CleanMPG (also one of my Prius Marathon cohorts)has invited me to drive with him in the Tour de Sol next week. From the sketchy details that I have, the 100 MPG challenge would be more suited to an Insight rather than a Prius (time limits mean 45MPH or so). So we will have an Insight.

Best of luck. I'm still wanting to have an insight. Maybe someday...

5MT non modified. MIMA throws you into the modified class and there is a different event for modifieds. You have to be stock for the 100 MPG challenge. We can only run 44 PSI (sidewall max)in the tires.

But a grille block is legal. Go figure.
