Weird results w/SG2

I didn't even calibrate the SG2 and it's off like crazy. The only thing I calibrated was the engine size and the fuel tank capicity. I didn't calibrate the thing after every tank. Before it used to be within .1 of a gallon. Now it's off by .6-.9 of a gallon. My mileage is falling off like crazy!!!!!!

37MPG!!! Hell I pulled off 40 and 42mpg WITHOUT the SG2!!!

I think it's time to reset the scangauge. Check yours out too!

you need to calibrate it for at least a tank full. If you calibrate it it will be more accurate

I don't think that's the case now. It's way too off. The only time I would know that I would calibrate it is if it was within .1-.2 gallons.

Talk about a grammar boo boo. My brain is tired from all the studying.

I pump more gas than the scangauge reports. Usually it was under reporting .1 gallons. Now it either under reports .1, .6, .9 gallons.

hummmm temperature compensated gas pump or you got a leak. One other possibility is the injectors are letting more gas per timed pulse because of the fuel has changed - we are on winter blend with summer temps that could cause more tank evaporization too.

Calibrate? How do you calibrate an electrical input / output unit? Kinda like shooting for accuracy with a 12 gauge, isn't it? LOL

Ted ? you kidding? The fuel used is a function of engine size and approximate values are setup by that entry but other factors affect actual fuel injected per pulse width so when you fillup there is an adjustment you can make for the number of gallons pumped vs measured by the SG.

Compaq888 - you need to find another gas station just in case there is a pump error.
