Thumbs up Brisk spark plugs

I just installed some Brisk plugs in my Cavalier, and will be filling up in a couple hours to start testing. I will say the car seems to idle much smoother, and at a lower RPM.

Unstable Bob -

I keep thinking I have seen all the spark plugs out there, but there's always a new one I have never heard of. A "no indexing" firing tip in a Lambo, of all things? Maybe this is the secret to theclencher's success.

I have Denso Iridiums that seem to be working fine right now, but Saturns also use a "waste spark" system that reverses the polarity of the firing of the plug :

I will be interested in your long term performance because I read at saturnfans that certain spark plug designs are susceptible to being fouled more quickly than others. My Denso's should be vulnerable, but they're working like a charm (knock on wood).

My mileage for the tank I used while running the Brisk plugs gave me 36 MPG, up from 35. And this was with some "spirited" driving. Car seems to be running really well, and as noted has a very smooth idle @ a lower RPM then stock.

Which reminds me, I need to check mine tomorrow

If you don't have a spark plug socket, it's ok to use a cresent wrench, correct?

Can you recall the before/after idle RPM? You can quantify your gas savings "at idle" with a simple RPM ratio.

And which spark plugs exactly with model number did you replace with these Brisk ones?

Oh snap! I forgot about this thread...
IIRC, the idle went from 700ish to low 600-high 500ish. Didn't really think to do a before and after check. The plugs I replaced were AC-Delco 41-981s.

Why is your Cavalier idling at a lower RPM? Far as I know its a computer controlled vehicle, so its idle should be more or less hard coded into the ECU. Logically speaking, plugs shouldn't change your idle speed

Someone else brought this up, and I really don't have an answer for it. *shrug* Guess it is like the azz dyno, you know the gains are there, but can't really prove it...
