A couple of days ago I completed my HID conversion kit install. I bought a 12000k kit so its the purplish color that looks great. Also my visibility at night has greatly increased over the stock headlights. Here are a few pics from the install.
First I removed the bumper(very easy), headlights, and turn signals.
Then I installed the ballasts
Then I connected the wires and tested it
I really like the output. I'll take more pics at night outside and post later.
Unfortunately I dont but, it fits right in just like the regular bulb does and then you lock it with the hinge spring thing. It has wires running from the bulb, one set going to the ballast, and the other running to the stock connector. Its a really easy install. My 12000k kit looks just like the ones on Mercedes and Acuras. If you get the 10000k kit, it looks like the ones on Lexus and BMWs which have the bluish look.
How's the spread of the light, are people flashing their brights at you or anything? I really want to go for a set of these but I hear they can get pretty blinding without retrofitting the lenses.
The spread is wide, but I haven't had anybody flash their lights at me, and I've been driving alot at night over the last two days just to test. They're not blinding because I went over my friends house and parked behind him and got in his car. While they are bright, definitely not blinding. I'd recommend this kit to anyone interested.
Are you using the stock fluted housings? It looks like it. There's a reason why that's illegal. You should get clear housings or projector headlights. Also, the white temperature gives you better visibility than the colored temps.
