yes 18ft is quite an exaggeration, but i tend to notice that i respond more quickly to leds, where as the conventional bulb is sometimes easier to ignore. this is particularly true with traffic lights if i am changing cds, so i think it would be just as true with people tailgating while on the cellphone.... just a thought anyway, i just order 4 tail light/brake light led bulbs

If you are stopping that fast you'll have much more serious problems. I.e. like flipping over.

How the hell could you flip a car end over end like that just by slamming the brakes?

if you are in an suv and you slam on the brakes while turning, it could definitely flip.

all you need to do is get the rear to lose traction so the vehicle gets sideways, then when it gains traction again... well there it goes. but yea, i really doubt that happens often.

Search function works

This is GREAT! I will definitely be using these LEDs in my quest for better FE, lowering my alternator requirements, etc. Thanks ever so much!

And I'll be doing it on a CRX which is the exact car Draco did this on. I'll be using a meter to measure currrent draw on both the LEDs and the bulbs that they replace, letting me know how much I can step down the alternator.

Anyone know of good LED replacements for headlights? Surely SOMEONE out there has done a good LED headlight replacement?

wow i'm back from the dead

no one is more enthustiatic about LED's in there cars than i and i have searched high and low for LED headlights. long story short, there arnt any. simply put, theve just come out with some 20,30 watt ones but there not bright enough to meat D.O.T. standards to be a safe headlight bulb. the clocest thing is to get some HID's compared to halogens that draw 10-15A total, HID's once warmed up (after they get full brightness) only draw 6-8A, total.

they have made some foglight/ driving lights LED's but there not bright neough to be used at night for headlights.
