If you are talking about what I am thinking of, they are not supposed to. Just for re-locating sensors on altered exhausts.

Not sure exactly what you are talking about, but there are casings that go over your o2 sensor to make it read less o2... is that what your talking about? It'll let you run lean.

Yeah I am talking about the ones that move it out so they read less O2. By making my car run more lean would this mean that I would get better mpg? I saw them on ebay for pretty cheap.

I lost about 5 mpg with a defouler on my Rear O2 Sensor. 27 to 22. Toyota 1zz 03 ECU.

Im using it with a A/F ratio controller on the front O2 Sensor to make the lean settings stick. So far my settings wont stick & I can run lean.

I don't know, it sounds like a bad idea. Your making your o2 sensor read less oxegen, how do you know what your actual a/f is? and how do you control it? You can't, and the chance of detonating is high.

I would stay away from it unless you can find a way to control your injection system, or at least watch your a/f ratio.

But to answer your question, yes running lean will increase mpg, if you don't lock your motor up in the process.

hmm I guess I should stay away from them then. i wouldnt want to cause any motor damage. I would like to hear from someone who is using one though just to see if it worked or not.

I am using one, but I have been doing some other mods lately and the weather is warming up too so its hard to say if its working.

I got a A/F ratio gauge on my front sensor. However every mod I do the A/F gauge dont change.

Right now Im using a single defouler instead of 2 & things seem a bit different but to early to tell. But the car is driving better according to me & the scan gauge. Ill do a slight fillip soon to see what I got.
